mzl.wdcyuikv.320x480-75Just like a trademark hinted in September, Square Enix is continuing the Nanashi no Game (Nameless Game) series. The next installment isn’t for Nintendo 3DS or Vita, it’s for iPhone.

Nanashi no App or Nameless App has a similar plot. Rumor is there’s a cursed smartphone game that kills players in seven days. Instead of avoiding it, you download it and creepy things start happening with your camera and mail apps. Nanashi no App has a mock smartphone interface players will use to solve the mystery and (hopefully) save their life.

In the game world you’ll play a 2D RPG and jump through punishing platforming levels where everything kills you. (Your character loses his head if he touches a flying blade in the DS version.) Nanashi no App also has a built in Twitter feature, which lets players read and tweet within the game.

Nanashi no App is available now (in Japanese only) for 800 yen ($10) on iTunes and is slated for an Android release in February.
