In regards to Square Enix’s MMORPG department, Square Enix saw sales for Final Fantasy XIV and Dragon Quest X decline. However, the profit for both titles grew due to revenue generated by their subscription based services.

Additionally, profits for the Square Enix mobile division continues to grow. Title such as War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Dragon Quest Tact, and Octopath Traveler: Conquerors of the Continent have performed well. Profits for Square Enix’s mobile titles have continued to grow on a year-on-year increase. Overall, the various game based divisions in Square Enix are performing strongly.

Unfortunately, due to the situation surrounding COVID-19 and state of emergency in Japan amusement business has seen a significant decrease in profits over this period of time. This includes Square Enix operated stores, such as the Square Enix store and cafe locations. Due to this, Square Enix’s amusement based businesses are currently struggling.
