Christmas in Japan has always been a holiday geared more towards couples, as it involves gift-sharing and cuddling during the cold winters. With Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and its romantic story coming out soon, Square Enix are marking the occasion by hosting a themed couples’ photo event in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The event will feature professional photographers who will be taking pictures of couples, which will then be turned into posters with the message “We are destined to one day part with our most dearest person. So, for now, I’d like to cherish that person, who stands besides me.”
The idea behind the bittersweet melancholic poster message is to provoke thoughts of “a parting that cannot be fought against” and to appreciate your significant other while you can, similar the story between Yuna and Tidus in Final Fantasy X.
…which is also the message behind the tear-jearking commercial for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster in Japan.

The photo event will be taking place on December 24 at the Marui City shopping department in Shibuya, Tokyo, where they’ll also be hosting a hands-on demo of the upcoming game.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is coming out on December 26 in Japan and and March 18, 2014, in North America for PlayStation 3 and Vita.
