Square Enix Shares New Trivia about Tifa from Crisis Core FFVII

Square Enix’s FFVII Remake Twitter account posted new trivia about Tifa Lockhart and her role in Nibelheim during Crisis Core FFVII. Some hardcore Final Fantasy VII fans might be aware of this trivia, but the origin of this information comes from the Japan-exclusive mobile game, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII.

As described in the recent tweet, Mount Nibel is a complicated mountain for outsiders to navigate as it is infamous for being “the mountain that can never be crossed by the living.” When Shinra sent Sephiroth and Zack to investigate Mount Nibel’s Mako Reactor in Chapter 8 of Crisis Core FFVII, they required a local guide with knowledge about the mountain. Tifa was chosen as that guide, but something that is little known by fans is that it was the Turks who actually recommended Tifa to the SOLDIERs. The Turks had been investigating the Mako Reactor on top of Mount Nibel before Sephiroth and the others arrived. Tifa helped one of the Turks navigate the mountain ahead of Crisis Core FFVII‘s events.

Square Enix has been consistently sharing trivia about Final Fantasy VII, including information about the Turks and one of the three options for Cloud’s dress in Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
