Square Enix quietly launched a 4v4 battle arena game called Battle of Blades last December, but things didn’t seem to click for the ambitious title as the company announced that it is ending service.
After internal discussion with the company, it was decided that it would be too difficult to continue providing a satisfactory service for the players. Square Enix decided to end the service of Battle of Blades, and deeply apologize to its current players.
Micro-transactions for the game have been taken down, but those who possess the gems will still be able to use them until the service ends on September 3, 2018 at 2:00pm JST.
Battle of Blades is available in Japan for iOS and Android. It launched on December 15, 2017.
