People with Apple iOS devices can now begin streaming PC games they own through Steam on their phones or tablets. The Steam Link iOS app has finally been fully approved and launched on the App Store. It is a free download, though someone does need to have a PC with a Steam account (and games) and an Apple iOS device with iOS firmware 10 or higher to play.
The Steam Link iOS app has quite a troubled history. Valve attempted to launch it in May 2018. However, it was rejected by Apple. Business conflicts were cited as a reason, something backed up by the TestFlight version of the app removing the ability to buy Steam games through it in June 2018. None of this affected the Android version, as the app has been in the Google Play storefront.
To use Steam Link with an iOS device, you need to connect to your PC over local WiFi. Then, you pair a Steam Controller or MFI one to play games you already own. Trying it with a visual novel may be a good place to start, since any lag or network issues would not be as noticeable or hamper gameplay.
The Steam Link app is now available for Android and Apple iOS devices.
