Steel Assault intends to pull no punches, throwing players into hand-to-hand combat against laser-blasting machines in the streets of a ruined Washington right from the start, following that with some wild, action-packed moments throughout.
Players will find themselves punching out robots in the streets, facing waves of varied enemies and minibosses that will test their timing and reflexes. A quick dodge may be enough to get players to safety, but they can also use a grappling hook to create a climbable rope between two surfaces, allowing them to create a temporary way to clamber out of danger’s path.
Players will go through many different areas, even within a single stage of Steel Assault. The first stage trailer has players moving from the streets to a building with an elevator, one where they will have to use their grappling hook to carefully navigate the broken elevator shaft. From here, they will find themselves on a runaway subway, which is where they will be attacked by a jet that hovers over their broken subway car, weaving through gun fire and laser beams or dodging the attacks of its mobile arms.
Steel Assault looks to offer a short, but action-filled romp for its players, with each stage packed with as many set piece battles and varied locations as the first.
