Street Fighter V’s March Update has a launch date. The PlayStation 4 and Windows PC game will be its new content in two parts. The Battle Lounge, Challenge Mode, and Online Rematch features will be added on March 28, 2016. The in-game shop and Alex, the first Street Fighter V DLC character, will be added on March 30, 2016.
At launch, people will need to use 100,000 Fight Money for characters and 40,000 Fight Money for costumes, as the real-cash Zenny shop will not be added in this update. This means people who want to purchase Alex, any character costumes, or perhaps any other DLC characters released before Zenny is implemented into Street Fighter V will need to earn Fight Money or buy the $29.99 season pass.
In consideration of that inconvenience, Capcom is attempting to make some allowances. Alex and any other DLC characters released prior to Zenny being added into the game can be used as part of a free trial. People can purchase their costumes with Fight Money during this trial period and keep them and the additional colors and story progress earned after the free Zenny shop launches and trial period ends. Everyone will also be able to get Ryu and Chun-Li’s story mode costumes for free starting March 30, 2016. People who have already purchased the Street Fighter V season pass will get premium costume access for DLC characters and be able to keep character access after the trial period. Season pass holders will also get a free stage.
Street Fighter V is immediately available for the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
