A new trailer for Suikoden: The Anime appeared confirming the release date for the series in Japan. It will start airing on October 3, 2026. As a reminder, the Suikoden anime skips past the first game and instead adapts the second game in the RPG series. There’s no worldwide streaming home for the series confirmed yet.
People will have to wait a bit longer for the second episode, which will appear on October 13, 2026. Each episode after that will release on a weekly basis every Tuesday. The first episode of the series will run for 60 minutes as a special release for the premiere. We don’t know how long the rest of the episodes will be, but we can expect them to be approximately 20 minutes long.

Another trailer for the anime appeared back in July 2026 and featured the opening theme song “Kanashimi Sae Otonabite” (Even Sadness Can Mature) by amazarashi. Furthermore, Konami shared a new illustration based on the cover art for the first Suikoden game redrawn by artist Junko Kawano to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary. You can check it out here:
In addition to the upcoming anime series, a stage play adaptation of the first Suikoden game appeared in Japan on December 2025. The anime series was announced back in March 2025.
Suikoden: The Anime will air in Japan and the release date for the first episode is October 3, 2026. Subsequent episodes will release every Tuesday, starting on October 13. The first two games in the Suikoden series can be played as part of the Suikoden I and II HD Remaster, which is available on Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
