Takara Tomy announced a new Super Mario Bottle Cap Collection line that gives people a chance to get personal markers for pop and water bottles that look like the hats characters from the series wear. There will be seven styles available. These will appear in Japanese gachapon machines in Japan starting the week of November 9, 2026, with each try on the capsule machine costing 300 yen (~$2). There’s no word on a worldwide release, but places like SimplyToyz sometimes sell items like these outside Japan.

Each of the Super Mario Bottle Cap Collection replica hats are about an inch tall and designed to fit on a standard-sized cap that appears on 16-20oz pop or water bottles. It’s a purely decorative item and not designed to make it easier to open drinks. The official page didn’t mention what materials they are made of.

Here’s the full list of options people could get. Since this is a gachapon prize, which one you’ll get is random and you have a 1-in-7 chance of getting any of the styles.

  • Mario hat
  • Luigi hat
  • Princess Peach crown
  • Toad hat
  • Toadette hat
  • Waluigi hat
  • Wario hat

The official art shows how all seven styles will look, and there’s also a small example image showing the Mario hat in-use.

We’ve seen Mario hats turned into merchandise before. They’ve shown up as pouches, for example, and plush toys. There’s also a game that involves stacking them.

The Super Mario Bottle Cap Collection of personal markers shaped like hats characters in the series wear comes to Japanese capsule machines the week of November 9, 2026. It’s unknown if we could see them worldwide.
