While there’s no Super Mario game series presentation planned ahead of Mario (Mar10) Day, Nintendo confirmed there will be a The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct on March 9, 2026. That will appear at 2pm PT/5pm ET/11pm CET. It appeared alongside new key art that showed returning major characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr, and Yoshi alongside more minor ones like Mouser and Wart. However, we do know there will be sales on Switch and Switch 2 games in the series starting on March 8, 2026 and themed Lunchables with Nintendo series like Mario Kart World.

Nintendo didn’t state how long The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct, but did confirm it won’t include any Mario Day game announcements ahead of March 10, 2026. It did note that part of the showcase will involve seeing the last trailer for the film. As the key art featured Mouser and Wart, it could mean we’ll see hints at their cameos during that presentation.

Here’s the placeholder for that:

In terms of the Mar10 Day game sales, those Super Mario discounts will appear between March 8-14, 2026. This will apply to digital eShop releases and physical copies at stores like Best Buy. The company confirmed the following titles will be part of that:

  • Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and Super Mario Odyssey (Switch)
  • Super Mario Maker 2 (Switch)
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV (Switch 2)

On March 10, 2026, we’ll also see some Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance and Virtual Boy games released.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Nintendo Direct will air at 2pm PT/5pm ET/11pm CET on March 9, 2026, and the film will debut on April 1, 2026.
