Super Mario Maker For 3DS’ Trailer Shows Off Medal Challenges

When Super Mario Maker comes to the Nintendo 3DS, it’s going to offer 100 built-in courses for people to play anywhere. These are entirely new to Super Mario Maker and some of them are going to have medal challenges that will task people with performing certain actions as they play through the game. To help people better understand how these work, Nintendo has released an over one minute long video showing some medal challenges.

The Super Mario Maker medal challenges trailer shows how difficult such endeavors can be. The first one shown, course 1-3, requires you to only defeat the Piranha Plants, but these plants are on Goombas’ heads. In course 3-1, you have to try and reach the goal while holding down right on the d-pad for the entire course. Course 5-2’s challenge involves getting to the end without jumping. The final course shown, 9-2, has you trying to lure every Boo to the goal.

Super Mario Maker will come to the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on December 1, 2016, and will release worldwide on December 2, 2016.
