Super Retro Maker lets players create their own stages inspired by 80’s sidescrollers, offering players various tools to create levels reminiscent of Mega Man, Contra, Strider, Castlevania, and more.
Super Retro Maker offers an array of enemies, environments, heroes, and power-ups for players to sprinkle across their own custom stages, build new challenges for players across the world to work through. These elements, which draw from various styles, will come together in levels that players can then upload for others to try, or players can choose to access the creations of other players to give them a shot.
Super Retro Maker doesn’t give players all of these tools from the start, instead tasking players to beat the game’s campaign in order to unlock all of these creation elements. The game, on top of its campaign mode, also features Metroidvania-like exploration to give players an interconnected world to explore, as well as minigames they can play with friends when they’re not busy creating their own stages.
Super Retro Maker is projected to release in 2018.
