Bandai Namco and FromSoftware stated that the Switch 2 version of Elden Ring, known as the Tarnished Edition, is delayed. It initially had a 2025 release window. That is now 2026. The announcement on social media noted this is due to “performance adjustments.”

The publisher and developer didn’t go over exactly what kinds of performance adjustments it will be making. However, the game did appear at some events over the past few months. During those, the builds seemed to show some performance issues including ones tied to FPS. People at Gamescom and PAX West 2025 could find it at booths like Nintendo’s.

As a reminder, this will be a complete edition of the game when it does appear. People get the base title and Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. There’s only one major new feature exclusive to this release. You can adjust how your mount Torrent looks.

As a reminder, here’s that first announcement trailer that appeared during the April 2025 Nintendo Direct:

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is delayed and will now come to the Switch 2 sometime in 2026. The game is already available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, as is its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion
