During the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2013 that took place this weekend, Namco Bandai announced a new Sword Art Online game that is currently in development for PlayStation Vita, called Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment.

The game will be taking place in an unexplored “Hollow Area” of a reborn Aincrad,  where the main character Kirito meets a mysterious vacant-eyed girl, who is expected to play a big role in Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment. The trailer also shows Kirito exploring and fighting with his partner, Asuna.

Namco Bandai’s previous game of the series, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, a RPG with an MMORPG setting on PlayStation Portable, had impressively shipped over 200,000 units earlier this year.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is slated for release next year on PlayStation Vita.
