Bandai Namco was smart to pick up the license for Sword Art Online, an anime series that shares some themes in common with their own .hack series. Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment made its PlayStation Vita debut on April 24 in Japan.
Bandai Namco brought the game to the West in August as a PlayStation Network download. In addition to being translated into English, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment was also localized into Chinese. Altogether, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment shipped 400,000 units worldwide.
The next Sword Art Online game, Sword Art Online: Lost Song, is in development for PlayStation 3.
