Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn DLC Details Shared

Yusuke Tomizawa released a blog post on the official Tales channel regarding the Tales of Arise DLC expansion, Beyond the Dawn. He stated that the story volume for the DLC is larger than what the team initially planned and hopes that the fans who purchase it will be satisfied with the value. Depending on where you are in the base Tales of Arise game, the DLC will offer different bonuses as well.

Players who start Beyond the Dawn will receive items like SP and Gald based on where they are in Tales of Arise. Players who have finished the game will get more. If you have finished Tales of Arise, then you will get 800 SP, 20,000 Gald, and 30 CP for starting Beyond the Dawn. For those who have maxed out all of their characters, the DLC will not give any SP or Gald. Instead, it will grant access to bonus weapons for all characters. Of course, in order to receive these bonuses, you will need to have the save data for Tales of Arise on your system.

Tomizawa acknowledged that Tales of Arise is two years old and this DLC was very sudden. He had even said in 2021 that there will be no post-game DLC. Thus, some players may have sold their physical copies of the game or deleted it off their hard drive to make room for other games. While those who bought a digital version can just re-download it, those who had a physical version and sold it will need to buy it again.

There are also more details about the Beyond the Dawn DLC in a Q&A page on the official Tales website. Nazamil, a new character in the DLC, will not be playable, though she will be present in skits and camp. While you can play Beyond the Dawn without beating Tales of Arise first, Tomizawa highly recommended finishing the base game since the DLC is an epilogue. You also will not be able to use your own characters. Instead, starting Beyond the Dawn will give you a party that has been adjusted to best fit the level of the game. All players will start the DLC on the same footing.

Tales of Arise is readily available on PS4, PS5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. The Beyond the Dawn DLC for Tales of Arise will come out on November 9, 2023.
