The Switch version of Tales of Symphonia Remastered will be getting a new patch. According to Bandai Namco, the patch will be only released for that version of the game, with no news on any updates for the PS4 and Xbox One versions. The version 1.3 update will be rolled out on August 22, 2023. The new Tales of Symphonia patch will address a number of significant performance issues on Switch. An issue where the background would go blank when opening the menu has been addressed. A similar issue where the game would go dark during skits has also been fixed. Bandai Namco have also fixed an issue where battles would fail to start when encountering enemies in the field. The biggest fix in the patch will address an issue where the game would occasionally crash in certain dungeons. This is the second time that Tales of Symphonia on Switch has required a patch to address serious issues. The version 1.2 patch released in May 2023 addressed issues with slowdown and the game freezing during boss fights. This followed a formal apology from Bandai Namco about the game’s performance on Switch. Tales of Symphonia Remastered is available now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The game is also available on Steam as a port of the PS3 release.
