Tecmo Koei Keen On Developing Games For Overseas Markets

Like many Japanese studios, Tecmo Koei is focusing on consumers outside of their home country. A forward looking statement in their financial report says the publisher plans on strengthening development of games for overseas markets.

Even before they merged, Tecmo and Koei had plans for Western domination. Koei opened Koei Canada, the studio behind Fatal Inertia and Prey the Stars. Tecmo purchased the rights to Fret Nice and revived Tecmo Bowl.

 

Warriors: Legends of Troy, a Dynasty Warriors-esque game set during the Trojan War, and the now multiplatform Quantum Theory seem like bigger steps towards their goal of emerging as the No.1 in the world entertainment content group.
