Telltale’s Tales of Monkey Island Reappears on Storefronts

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

A delisted Telltale Games title has reappeared. Tales of Monkey Island has again appeared online for people to buy. However, the catch is that only one platform’s version has been restored. People can once again find the five-chapter story of Guybrush Threepwood’s latest encounter with LeChuck on GOG and Steam. It’s even on sale for 50% off, bringing the price down to $9.99 until July 9, 2020.

Tales of Monkey Island was one of the casualties of Telltale Games’ studio closure. After the developer was shut down, the PC and PlayStation 3 versions were delisted later that year. The iOS version was already removed prior to that, and the Wii Shop Channel has been shut down so access to the Nintendo Wii version has been lost. It seemed like it was lost to the sands of time. The new listing has LCG Entertainment as its developer and Athlon Games as its publisher.

Unfortunately, the PlayStation 3 listing has not reappeared. There is still a product page for the full five-episode bundle, but it is not possible to buy a copy of the adventure game.

Tales of Monkey Island originally appeared on the PC back in 2009. It eventually was ported to the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, and Apple iOS devices.
