Square Enix revealed a new HD-2D game called The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on July 31, 2025. It seems to involve a time-traveling adventure, as it mentions going through a door and an adventure spanning centuries. It will debut in 2026, and a debut demo is out today. Square Enix will also release a survey for us to take after the demo’s launch to provide feedback.
In the game, we follow a hero named Elliot who is accompanied by a fairy named Faie. It will be an action-RPG with real-time combat and different weapons with varying playstyles. It will also be possible to strengthen attacks with Magicite. Faie can attack as well, and we can swap to control her as we play. Their goal is to explore Philabieldia and deal with the monstrous beast tribes ruthlessly attacking people. All humans are left to try and survive in one city, the Kingdom of Huther, with a Spell of Safeguarding protecting it.
