The Good Life Teams

The Good Life Teams Are Cat and Dog and They Lead to Different Benefits

A new Kickstarter update has announced and detailed a new system players will see in the upcoming game, The Good Life. The system will cause townspeople  to respond differently to the protagonist based on whether she is in cat form or dog form. They will even have preferences based on loyalty to “Team CAT” or “Team DOG.”

The system doesn’t end with reactions, though. Various shop keeps and restaurateurs throughout the town will offer discounts to the protagonist depending on her devotion to Team CAT or Team DOG. The finer details of this aspect of the game haven’t been made clear at the moment, so it is hard to say how easily it is to establish the protagonist’s allegiance to one of these teams, or if it’s easy to change. The update’s author, Yuya Yamada, explains the reasoning behind the mechanic’s inclusion, saying, “We think this will add another layer of fun to the game, through allowing players to strategize based on which shops they use the most. Please be nice to everyone though, regardless of what team they’re on!”

The Good Life is a game expected to debut on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in Summer 2021. It is being developed by White Owls which includes company CEO Hidetaka “Swery” Suihiro, who is known for his work on titles like Deadly Premonition and Spy Fiction.

A music video entitled “The Good Life,” performed by The Bad Lives, was released for a Kickstarter Update on September 25, 2020.
