Sony and Takara Tomy announced a new gashapon capsule toy set called The History Collection: PlayStation that features PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, and PS5 console replicas. Each try costs 500円 (~$3.20) and nets a random system. It is immediately available in machines in Japan, but there’s no worldwide release set.
How this set works is that each capsule includes a console, a game with case, a controller, and when applicable a memory card. So the PS1 comes with a copy of Arc the Lad, a memory card, and a wired controller that can connect to the system. The lid of the system can open to place the disc inside. The PS2 has Ape Escape 3, a memory card, and a controller. The disc tray opens so the disc can be placed inside. The PS3 has a controller and Everybody’s Golf 5. The PS4 has a controller and Gravity Rush 2. Finally, the PS5 has a controller and Astro Bot.

While it isn’t from the same company or an exact replica of this, Good Smile Company is selling a similar sort of collectible. It announced its set of replicas for its figma figure line. That will be sold everywhere and also includes small recreations of the PSP and Vita handhelds.
The History Collection: PlayStation set of PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, and PS5 console replicas is now available in gashapon capsule machines in Japan. It’s unknown if any store will officially sell them worldwide.
