The PSO2 x The Irregular at Magic High School collaboration adds three outfits based on the series to its reward selection. The outfits, which are cosmetic items for the whole body, mimic the distinctive green-and-white uniforms of First Magic High School, as worn by the main characters Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba. There is one outfit for male characters and two for female characters. The selection also includes hairstyles to mimic Tatsuya and Miyuki’s, as well as Weapon Camos to mimic the “CAD” weapons used in the show.

The Irregular at Magic High School (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei) is a light novel series written by Tsutomu Satou and first released in 2011. It received an anime adaptation in 2013, the second season of which airing in late 2020.

The Irregular at Magic High School takes place in the near future, where the practice of magic has been thoroughly systematized and refined by modern technology. Natural-born magicians are considered powerful war assets and regulated by national governments. Tatsuya Shiba enrolls into First Magic High School and despite his low test scores marking him out as “irregular” and sub-par, he’s secretly a strategic-class magician. That means he’s a walking weapon of mass destruction, devoted to protecting Japan’s power on the world stage and defending his gifted sister Miyuki from those who’d exploit her.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is immediately available on the PC and Xbox One, as well as on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS Vita in Japan. The game will also run a Sword Art Online collaboration from May 12, 2021. The Irregular at Magic High School anime can be streamed on Crunchyroll in North America.
