Hello Games’ next adventure has a release date. The Last Campfire is practically a shadowdrop, as people will be able to go through its puzzles to help lost souls find some peace on August 27, 2020.
As people go through the adventure, people have the option of going through the campaign as normal or taking advantage of a more relaxed Explore mode. In either case, you’ll help collect people who are lost and need help. As you talk to them, you’ll have a chance to provide some sort of aid while also surviving and meandering through the world. The more you do, the more skills you’ll learn and items you’ll find to help make your job easier.
To accompany the release date, there’s a new video looking at it in action. Hello Games Founder and Managing Director Sean Murray narrates what’s going on and offers some insights into what’s happening on-screen. It also emphasizes that you might not be able to always help the people you’ll come across, forcing you to decide what you can do despite the circumstances.
The Last Campfire will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Apple Arcade on August 27, 2020. If you’re in Japan, you can already pick it up on the eShop there for 1,480円 ($14).
