Nihon Falcom announced The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II Crimson Sin will release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 sometime in Fall 2022 in Japan. A Western release has yet to be announced. Artist Katsumi Enami will return as a character designer for this new entry in the series. Additionally, the title will feature a similar battle system as the first Kuro no Kiseki. The Law, Grey and Chaos alignment system will also return. It will also include a wealth of side content for players to experience. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
Alongside the announcement of the title, a brief story synopsis was released. Van Arkride will return as the protagonist of this entry in the series. It will take place after the elimination of the Armata. The Republic of Calvard is finally in a state of peace. However, things abruptly begin to change after a strange incident in Edith City occurs, which sees a CID operations squad massacred. The Calvard Police and Bracer Guild begin to investigate the incident.
However, several underground factions sense that a change is on the horizon and begin to make their move. Meanwhile, Spriggan Van Arkride begins an independent investigation, triggered by a visit from an unexpected person. The game will seek to uncover the mystery behind the massacre, and the fate of Agnes as she seeks the Eighth Genesis.
