Beginning next month Sega will release Master System games on the Virtual Console in Japan. The first two titles are Fantasy Zone for 500 Wii Points ($5) and Fist of the North Star for 600 Wii Points ($6). At the moment this news is only for Japan, but it’s highly probable Sega will do the same thing in North America in the future.
Personally, I can’t think of many Sega Master System games I’m eager to try again besides Phantasy Star and Golden Axe Warrior. Anyone have any suggestions other than getting the ultra rare Sonic the Hedgehog Master System version to compare it against the Genesis classic?
In related news, Sega also announced two Mega Drive (Genesis) titles for the month of February. Wii owners in Japan can look forward to Wrestle Ball and Gley Lancer.
