Back in May, Xseed announced they would not be able to release Grand Knights History in North America. It’s not like Xseed wasn’t working on Vanillaware’s PSP game, they completed the English text.
"As for GKH, well, sometimes it’s out of our hands. The text was all translated and ready to go, but the resources just weren’t there. We were as devastated as you guys," Jessica Chavez from Xseed said during a live Q&A with Kotaku.
Chavez also said two of my favorite Xseed titles were among their weakest selling games. "Don’t know exactly which, but Retro Game Challenge and Half-Minute Hero were not particularly popular," Chavez said responding to a question about Xseed’s biggest flop. Half-Minute Hero has a fantastic script, brilliant gameplay that deconstructs RPGs, and at least one tearjerker moment. If you haven’t played that or Retro Game Challenge stop reading and get those now. I think Half-Minute Hero is still $10 on the PlayStation Store too, can’t beat that price!
