PlayStation 3 firmware 2.40, In game XMB, and trophies is scheduled to come out on July 2. Unfortunately, the trophy feature will not extend far into the existing catalog of PlayStation 3 games. Only three games will retroactively include trophies to collect: Super Stardust HD, Warhawk, and Pain. All of them are PlayStation Network games. Warhawk technically has a retail package, but if we’re going by Sony Computer Entertainment America’s list the first retail only game with trophies won’t be coming until October.
It’s interesting to note that Siren: Blood Curse, an upcoming retail PS3 game in Japan, is not on the first party list. Perhaps, the list is incomplete like Sony’s DualShock 3 press release which didn’t include Unreal Tournament III as one of the games with rumble.
