Capcom’s “through the glass experience” smartphone visual novel game Imprisoned Palm released a couple years ago with success, and it is getting a new title set to be revealed at TGS 2018 next week.

The title is called Toraware no Palm: Refrain (Imprisoned Palm: refrain) and it’ll be for smartphones once again. The reveal was made through a countdown on the game’s official website, but so far we only have its title, logo, and platform as far as details go.

Imprisoned Palm currently has two parts with their own characters, Haruto and Aoi (Haruto on the left and Aoi on the right in the above image).

To give you an idea what the game is about, In Imprisoned Palm the player reads into the closed off memories and heart of Haruto, a man who is imprisoned in an internment camp located on a solitary island. Through various means of communication, players learn more about their past and how he ended up in his situation.

As for gameplay, Haruto is locked in his cell and the player communicates with him through the smartphone, as if they’re on the other side of a glass wall. The gameplay involves communicating with Haruto or Aoi through the glass and learning more about them by exploring different parts of the island and communicating with its people as part of an episodic drama.

Check out the videos for both Haruto and Aoi parts below:

Aoi Part

Aoi’s story is a pretty tragic one, where he basically lost his memories and assumes the player is his lover that he doesn’t remember. He asks questions such as what nicknames did he go by and we see him apologizing for not being able to remember things. Aoi shows unconditional love towards the player, but then we see documents that ask if you can lie about your relationship with Aoi and pretend to be his lover.

Imprisoned Palm: Refrain will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2018 which runs from September 20 to 23, 2018. It’ll also be playable at the Capcom booth.
