The Trails Of Cold Steel I & II PC Ports Now Offer English And Japanese Voice Acting

Recommended Videos

Both of the PC ports for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel have received major updates. People who get the latest patches will notice a number of significant additions to the two games, with perhaps the biggest inclusion being Japanese voice acting for both installments.

The Japanese voice acting is listed as the first new feature for both Trails of Cold Steel I and II. However, a number of other extra or improved features are available for both games. For one, each game now has Steam Leaderboards for Academic Points, Angler Points, Total Battle Victories, and Triple Advantage Battles. Both also allow you to select a high resolution font for the UI after the patch.

Another big addition is support for modded textures. Both the pages for Trails of Cold Steel I and II point to the Bighead HD texture packs for the first and second games, which are in what Bighead refers to as a “beta” phase. Both releases currently focus on battle effect and UI textures.

Here are the official patch notes for Trails of Cold Steel 1.6.

New features:
– Added an option for Japanese voice language.
– Added 4 Steam leaderboards. Compare your scores against your Steam friends — and everyone else — in Total Battle Victories, Triple Advantage Battles, Angler Points and Academic Points. Note: if you already completed the game, you need to start it and load a save for your scores to be uploaded. (This is a Steam-only feature)

Graphics Improvements:
– Added a high resolution UI font option.
– Added the ability to natively load modded textures. (Check out BigHead’s fantastic high-res UI texture mod)
– Made soft shadows stable under camera rotation.

Voice & text improvements:
– Added 148 additional English voice lines.
– Implemented some minor dialogue text fixes.
