This Is How Square Enix Makes Final Fantasy XIII Sound Effects

Square Enix posted a behind the scenes look at Final Fantasy XIII’s foley sound studio. Staff tasked with this job have to recreate sound effects with ordinary items.

 

As an example, clanking PSI-COM footsteps are made by a foley artist shaking metal gauntlets. Multiple rattling sound effects were recorded and synchronized to make each soldier sound like an individual.
