Dragon Quest IX was originally supposed to launch this week. Few Japanese publishers would want to go head to head against Dragon Quest in sales, which is why this week’s selection of imports is light.
Since the shadow of Dragon Quest IX scared other publishers from releasing games this week Quantum of Solace, localized by Square Enix, has a clear path when it launches on three consoles. Taito, a Square Enix subsidiary, will launch Space Invaders Extreme 2 and it won’t be the only shoot ’em up. Alchemist will release Trigger Heart Exelica Enhanced in regular and limited edition bundles. Other import highlights include Konami’s mega manga mash up fighter Sunday x Magazine Shuuketsu! Choujou Daikessen, Namco Bandai’s PSP conversion of Mobile Suit Gundam: Senjou no Kizuna, and Sega’s second Haruhi game on the Wii.
If the selection of imports isn’t looking hot catch up on games you missed from Play-Asia’s lucky spring sale. ASH is up there for under $15, Bleach: Soul Carnival is $25, and Samba de Amigo for US Wiis is $20. Also there are plenty of domestic releases this week like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, Lux Pain, Tenchu: Shadow Assassins (the PSP one), Ultimate Ninja 4: Naruto Shippuden, and Gardening Mama.
