Gust and Toei Animation recently revealed a new collaboration project, and it’s been revealed as a new anime and smartphone game called Kakuchou Shoujokei Trinary, or Expansion Girl Style Trinary. Here’s more info from a preview of this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.
The goal of this project is to challenge a new form of fusion that has yet to be done between video games and anime, as part of what they’re calling an “anime cross link RPG.” What exists on the “reality” found on the other side of the screen are girls that fight as they take on special missions.
The fusion between anime and game will draw out the “front and back” surfaces of what goes on using the smartphone app as just one of the ways to enjoy this title. Akatsuki Tsuchiya, known for his work on the Ar Tonelico and Surge Concerto series, will be in charge of this new project.
The story is set in a metropolitan area of Japan that gets hit by an abnormal situation, and it features the five heroines shown on the top image. While not much is else is known about it, the sample-sized images above give us a look at the work on its anime.
Kakuchou Shoujokei Trinary is in development for smartphones. The project’s anime will feature a preview event featuring Akatsuki Tsuchiya and the main cast at the Shinjuku Wald 9 building in Tokyo, Japan on September 16, 2016.
