Tokyo Majin haunts DS owners in August

Supernatural high schools are quite popular in video games now, but the Tokyo Majin Gakuen series has been using the setting for ten years. On August 21 the latest installment in the series, Tokyo Majin Gakuen: Kenpuuchou, will be released on the Nintendo DS care of Marvelous Interactive. The DS game gives players a chance to swordfight ghouls and strengthen their characters through an emotional conversation system.

DS Fanboy is quick to point out ADV licensed the anime, which will simply be called Tokyo Majin in North America. There hasn’t been any news about a broadcast premiere, which is usually one of the requirements for an anime game to get localized. Of course there are exceptions, but in the case of Tokyo Majin Gakuen I wouldn’t expect one. The only way I envision this coming out in English is if, and this is a huge if, Marvelous Interactive’s dormant US division localizes it internally.
