Siliconera reported that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp released a day early, and within this one day the app has shot to No. 1 in the ‘downloaded app’ category in the US App Store, and the Top 10  in the ‘highest grossing’ category in the JP region App Store. [Thanks, SensorTower.]

The game, which features classic gameplay but has players managing a campground rather than a town, is currently topping the charts in USA, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Austria and Luxembourg, and in the Top 10 for Great Britain, Ireland, Singapore, Switzerland and Italy.

Japan’s in-game spending propelled the app to No. 9 on ‘Highest Grossing’, but SensorTower notes that this was expected, due to the nature of mobile gaming in Japan, and data from Nintendo’s previously released mobile title, Fire Emblem Heroes.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is currently available on iOS and Android.
