The September 2025 Nintendo Direct meant we got a Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream update and new release date window. There was also a new trailer that showed what we can expect. While it will appear in 2026, we now know it will launch in Spring 2026.
The video began by showing an overview of the island. After that, we got to see the Mii creation suite. We got to see some customization options, as well as how we can adjust characters’ personalities and voices. From there, we got to see more mini scenarios and interactions between characters.
Here’s the full September 2025 Nintendo Direct. The new Spring 2026 release date window for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream comes up at the end of its trailer segment.
The original Tomodachi Collection only appeared in Japan on the DS in 2009. The sequel Tomodachi Life was the first to appear worldwide, and that showed up on the 3DS in 2013 in Japan and 2014 elsewhere. Both of them featured similar sort of gameplay and scenarios in them.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will come to the Switch 2 in Spring 2026, though we don’t know the exact release date yet.
