Ahead of its Spring 2026 debut, we’ll see a Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Nintendo Direct. This will be held at 7am PT/9am ET/3pm ET on January 29, 2026. It will focus on gameplay for the Switch game only and won’t bring up any additional titles. This will be the first console entry in the former handheld series.

The placeholder for this Nintendo Direct is already live on YouTube. This will be a 20 minute showcase. When past presentations dedicated to a single game like this appeared, such as the ones for Donkey Kong Bananza or Kirby Air Riders, we ended up with a definitive release date. We also got to see gameplay elements that hadn’t been revealed in previous trailers.

You’ll be able to see the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Nintendo Direct below:

This will be the third game in the Tomodachi Life line of Nintendo games. The original one was Tomodachi Collection on the Switch in 2009. That only showed up in Japan. Tomodachi Life followed on the 3DS, debuting worldwide a year after its Japanese debut in 2013. In it, players create Mii characters and let them live out often surreal lives in a space together, interacting with one another.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is on the way to the Switch in Spring 2026, and there will be a Nintendo Direct dedicated to the game at 7am PT/9am ET/3pm ET on January 29, 2026.
