Topaz Build in Honkai: Star Rail Prioritizes Follow-Up Attacks

Topaz in Honkai: Star Rail is a 5-star Fire Hunt character who you should build to accommodate her focus on follow-up attacks. This guide will break down the best Honkai: Star Rail Topaz build, including which Light Cones and Relics work best for her.

Best Topaz Build in HSR

For starters, to understand how to build Topaz in Honkai: Star Rail, we need to know how she works. Topaz’s Skill can increase how much DMG a single target takes from follow-up attacks and her Ultimate increases how much DMG and Crit DMG Numby can do.

If she’s a sole DPS, then most of her DMG comes from her Skill and Basic Attack (which are follow-up attacks) and Numby’s follow-up attack. With other follow-up attackers like Jing Yuan or Dr. Ratio, Topaz’s Skill can help them deal more damage as well. For stats, Topaz wants ATK since everything she needs scales off it. Now that we know how Topaz works, we can see how to build her.

Here Are the Best Topaz Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail

  • Worrisome, Blissful
As Topaz’s signature Light Cone, this is her best-in-slot weapon. It increases her Crit Rate and her follow-up attack DMG. Because she can apply Tame stacks to an enemy, which increases how much Crit DMG allies deal a target, this is really good for your party and works especially well with Topaz. Topaz’s Basic ATK and Skill count as follow-up attacks, so you don’t even need to wait for Numby.
  • Cruising in the Stellar Sea
Because of Topaz’s follow-up attack-oriented kit (and she doesn’t even deal DMG with her Ultimate, preventing her from making the most out of Dr. Ratio’s signature), there aren’t a lot of Hunt Light Cones that work very well with her. Cruising in the Stellar Sea is a great alternative because you can get it in-game for free, and it’s a stat stick of a 5-star. It does offer Topaz a Crit Rate boost, as well as a temporary but high ATK increase once she defeats an enemy. So, the passive ability is pretty useful.
  • Only Silence Remains
Only Silence Remains is a fairly good Light Cone for Topaz because of its ATK increase. Though Topaz is a Hunt character, her status as a follow-up attack buffer means you can use her in battles with lots of enemies. So, you might not always be able to make use of the secondary Crit Rate increase, which requires two or fewer enemies on the field.
  • Swordplay
Swordplay is great for Topaz because Topaz’s kit encourages her and Numby to attack a single target until it’s dead. This works well with Swordplay, which increases how much DMG the wearer deals with every time they hit the same target. This boost will disappear once she changes targets though.
  • Final Victor
Like Cruising in the Stellar Sea, Final Victor is free in-game, which makes it a good option for F2P players. It increases Topaz’s ATK, as well as applies Good Fortune stacks onto an enemy whenever she lands a Crit hit. Each stack will increase her Crit DMG, but they will disappear at the end of her turn. This means Final Victor is most useful for Topaz after she uses her Ultimate or if she’s on a follow-up attack team.

Here Are the Best Topaz Relics in Honkai: Star Rail

  • 4-pc The Ashblazing Grand Duke
This is Topaz’s best-in-slot Set for Relics because it increases her follow-up attack DMG, as well as her ATK every time she hits an enemy with her follow-up attack. Because Numby hits multiple times during its follow-up attack, you should be able to rack up quite a bit of stacks.
  • 2-pc The Ashblazing Grand Duke, 2-pc Firesmith of Lava-Forging
For those who don’t have a full set of Duke to put on Topaz, the Firesmith 2-pc set can work as a placeholder. It increases how much Fire DMG she does, which is useful for her. The Ashblazing Grand Duke is still her best Set, though, so you should not keep her on this chimera set.
  • Inert Salsotto
Inert Salsotto is one of the best Planar Ornaments for Topaz because it increases how much DMG she can deal with her follow-up attacks. You will need a minimum of 50% Crit Rate in order to get this bonus. However, Topaz should have a lot of Crit Rate anyway.
  • Firmament Frontline: Glamoth
You can use either Firmament Frontline: Glamoth or Space Sealing Station for the ATK bonus. Both Planar Ornament Sets require a minimum SPD in order to obtain an extra bonus ATK or DMG boost. Space Sealing Station only needs 120, whereas Glamoth needs a minimum of 135 (160 for the highest). I recommend Glamoth, but if you can’t hit its minimum threshold, Space Sealing Station works as well.
  • Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm
Like Glamoth and Space Sealing Station, Izumo Gensei increases Topaz’s ATK. However, she can get a Crit Rate bonus if she’s on a team with a fellow Hunt character. While you can enjoy the passive ATK boost, this Planar Ornament Set works best when Topaz is on the same team as someone like Dr. Ratio, who is a Hunt character with a follow-up attack kit.
