In the Nihon Falcom Financial Results for the Fiscal Year Ending September 2025 shared on the company’s Investor Relations section of its official site, it confirmed both Trails in the Sky the 2nd (aka Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter) and a PS5 version of Ys X: Proud Nordics will appear before the end of the fiscal year that ends in September 2026. No exact release windows or dates were mentioned. However, the sixth page of the shared pdf did confirm again that the Trails in the Sky the 1st Original Soundtrack will appear in Japan in December 2025 and be followed by a Falcom Acoustics 3 compilation album in March 2026.

In the case of the second part of the The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky trilogy, the statement noted 2nd Chapter will be a multiplatform release. 1st Chapter appeared on the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC. We’ll also see it worldwide. The end of that first part did include a teaser for this, we we did know it was on the way, but didn’t know a release window. The part of the report going over the two entries in this trilogy also mentioned the first part is now at 9 million copies sold worldwide.

With Ys X: Proud Nordics, it’s a confirmation of new platforms for an updated version of the action-RPG that’s already on the Switch 2 and PC in Asia. A worldwide release is already confirmed for both those versions in “early 2026.” That adds an Oland Island location, a Muspelheim dungeon, a Mana Hold ability for exploration in some spots, and quality of life adjustments like improved visuals and performance.

Since there is a trailer for the Switch 2 and PC versions of that already, you can see that below to get an idea of what to expect from the PS5 release.

We’ll see Trails in the Sky the 2nd on multiple platforms and Ys X: Proud Nordics on the PS5 by September 2026.
