In Ubisoft’s most recent financial statement they give a skeleton outline of what they are working on for 2008. Besides the recently unveiled, but long rumored Assassin’s Creed DS, there is a Lost game, Haze, Tom Clancy’s EndWar (which is probably coming to the DS if Gamestop is right), a Shaun White Snowboard game and a Tom Clancy Air Combat title in the pipeline.
Key returning franchises include: Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Brothers in Arms, Far Cry, Prince of Perisa and Anno will appear this year along with two unnamed series. Meanwhile the Wii and DS gets “new casual games” in the fourth quarter of their 2007 fiscal year (read: up until March 31, 2008). Ubisoft also plans to develop more Petz games, Imagine series titles and a handful of My Coach learning games. It’s a good time to note that most of the Petz games, all of the Imagine games and My Coach titles are for Nintendo systems. So the Wii and DS are probably getting lots of support with edutainment/training games, but there is always hope the new Prince of Persia game will come to the Wii without slapped on motion controls found in the Prince of Persia: Two Thrones or the Shaun White Snowboard game will take advantage of the Wii balance board.
