The 2023 Summer Games Fest kicked off today with the announcement of the return of a classic series with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The game sports a new, cartoony art style, but hearkens back to the original with a side-scrolling perspective. Story-wise, it seems to follow an elite group of warriors called the Immortals as they try to rescue the captured prince of their empire. It also showcased platforming, special attacks, a bow weapon, and boss fights against a manticore and giant serpent. Time-traveling powers and the ensuing hijinx associated with them are also present.

You can catch the trailer below:

It is currently unknown if this game will be related to the reported Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake by Ubisoft Montreal.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will launch on January 18, 2024 on the, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
