A long-awaited Shantae art book seems like it is finally going to make its debut in 2020. Udon announced The Art of Shantae project all the way back at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, and now an Amazon listing has shown up suggesting it will launch on December 1, 2020. [Thanks, Wario64!]
The Amazon page doesn’t have the cover art, which was shared at SDCC 2017, displayed. However, it does have an updated description for it. When it was first announced Shantae: Half-Genie Hero was only about a year old. So, it was only going to cover art from Shantae, Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, and that Kickstarter-funded title. The updated description noted that the 224-page, hardcover book will now also cover Shantae and the Seven Sirens too.
This comes after Udon itself teased people wouldn’t have to wait too much longer for the Shantae art book. The company had some exclusive t-shirts inspired by the series as part of its SDCC 2020 lineup. Then, at its SDCC 2020 panel, Director of Publishing Matt Moylan reminded people the company is working on the compilation.
If the Amazon listing is accurate, then The Art of Shantae will appear on December 1, 2020 and cost $49.99. As for games, the original Shantae Game Boy Color game will get a rerelease for the Game Boy Color and Nintendo Switch in September 2020.
