The electronics peripheral and accessory manufacturer UGREEN has been working with HoYoVerse on merchandise based on games since its Genshin Impact Kinich collection and released a Yao Guang Honkai: Star Rail line of similar sorts of items. This means another sort of Nexode Powerbank, charger, and USB-C cable, as well as a themed MagFlow power bank and Fine Track Mini 2. And again, after I tested them, all the items worked perfectly. However, I do think this line feels a little more on-brand for Yao Guang and in-tune with the character due to some design choices in the process.
The big ticket UGREEN Honkai: Star Rail Yao Guang items this time are again the two types of power banks, with one being the $89.99 MagFlow Air Magnetic Power Bank and the other the $59.99 Nexode Pro Power Bank. Both are the same shade of turquoise that matches the character’s aesthetic. This is in contrast to the Kinich collection, which featured the full-color character art and green Dendro-referenced accents on a black background. The performance on both is fantastic, and I appreciated both had a built-in USB-C cable that is also able to be aesthetically stored when not in use. The more expensive model features a 10,000mAh battery, allows for wireless charging, and has a lit indicator for telling how much power is left. The other also has a 10,000mAh, a screen with details about power, and a USB-A port. Both also meet airline carry-on requirements.
The thing is, here I actually like the Honkai: Star Rail Yao Guang Nexode Pro Power Bank more. The design is both on great. Both are a great size for fitting into a backpack or purse. The screen with detailed information is great on this model however, and I love the color Yao Guang art on the front. It’s very well done, features a fantastic pose, and is just gorgeous. The same art is on the MagFlow Air Magnetic Power Bank, but that’s a black outline design, which I think doesn’t feel as artistic and elegant somehow. (Though it is probably more practical, depending on your types of devices.) While only one features the touches of color, I do appreciate the nods to peacocks and bird feathers throughout too.
I’m a big fan of the designs of the Fine Track Mini 2, Nexode Air Charger, and Nexode Retractable USB-C cable in this Honkai: Star Rail UGREEN collection for the same reasons. All of them feature this fantastic turquoise color scheme and full-color art of Yao Guang that perfectly suits the character. The Fine Track Mini 2 works with Apple Find My and has 110dB alert with reflective strips and features the character’s feather on the front. It’s very visible, but also rather small. (It’s about an inch on each side and comes with a rubberized case you can attach a keychain to.) I think the color helps make it even more visible, if used as a keychain. That’s also expected to last between five to seven years on its battery, but of course I can’t speak to that. The 3.3 foot long retractable USB-C cable isn’t the longest option, but it is a convenient travel option and has the same gorgeous Yao Guang full-color art from the Nexode Pro Power Bank. Likewise, the Nexode Air Charger has the full-color art and, if you position it right at an outlet, it’s really eye-catching and pretty. Of course, handy as well due to the USB-C port and ability to fold the plug in for travel.
This Honkai: Star Rail Yao Guang line of items is another case of the UGREEN quality accessories being paired with a HoYoVerse game. It’s again very practical, though I’d say this time around is also even prettier than the Genshin Impact Kinich series. The turquoise color scheme really stands out, and the full-color art of the character on some pieces is gorgeous. I also loved how the peacock theme was carried throughout both with depictions of birds and the actual feathers on every element.
