Cygames has announced that it is collaborating with the movie Top Gun: Maverick by sending in Uma Musume character Mayano Top Gun as a promotional pilot. The movie will release on November 19, 2021, and prior to the release date, Mayano Top Gun will promote the movie in various ways. Just how she will do so is still unknown. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089!]
Top Gun: Maverick is the sequel to Top Gun, which hit theaters in 1986. Tom Cruise reprises his role as Captain Pete āMaverickā Mitchell, and other actors such as Val Kilmer will return. Top Gun: Maverick was supposed to come out in 2019, but was postponed for various reasons, including the COVID-19 pandemic. In Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, Mayano Top Gun has a distinctly pilot-like appearance with her jacket, as well as her 3-star skill animation involving her parachuting out of a plane.
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby has dominated social media in Japan and the market worldwide since its release in February 2021. As part of the half anniversary, the game will introduce a new scenario, Aoharu Cup. Additionally, Aoharu Cup will unlock new live concert songs, as well as two new characters: Bitter Grasse and Little Kokon.
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is available on mobile devices and Windows PC in Japan. Top Gun: Maverick will appear in theaters on November 19, 2021.
