When launch trailers for video games are released, they are filled with pull quotes from reviews praising the game. The Undertale launch trailer has a few of these, but it is also filled with some rather delightful quotes from other iconic game developers. As creator Toby Fox notes on Twitter, all of these whimsical lines were actually provided by people like Shigesato Itoi, Earthbound’s creator, Double Fine’s Tim Schafer, and Nier: Automata Director Yoko Taro. 

 

Here are the featured in the Undertale PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita launch trailer.

  • “It’s incredible… I can’t get enough! Oh, sorry… I was talking about croquettes.” – Shigesato Itoi
  • “A huge, epic RPG that took me 50 hours to beat… …of course I was drunk or passed out for maybe 40 of those.” Yoko Taro
  • “I’ll say whatever you guys want. I just really, really want to be in this trailer.” Tim Schafer
