Those of you wondering why only Luigi got a figure and hoping that you could get a Mario one can now wrap their mitts around Bandai’s upcoming release of the Red Plumber in a S.H. Figuarts series. The Mario figure will be available from May and comes fully pose-able. While some might therefore complain at the jointage breaks, who am I to say no to the ability to make Mario finally pose the way I want him to?

The figure stands at 100mm tall and is made of ABS and PVC. The main set comes with Mario, a Question block and gold coin as well as a Super Mushroom. You can also pick up two more sets which add more interaction-bits for the Italian—a block set that adds two brick blocks, another Question block and gold coin, a Goomba to stomp on and a base plate with extra standee to help pose Mario mid-jump. The pipe set adds two pipes of different heights, another Koopa, a green shell, swappable hands to let him hold the shell and a third gold coin.

So, guess how much this will set you back? What’s that? Fifty dollars? For shame, my friends, for Mario is our friend! It will only cost 2,700 yen (US$27). The two extra sets are priced at 2,160 yen (US$22) each.

You can pre-order Mario here and he’ll be available from May.
