The Utawarerumono saga ends today. Atlus has released Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth, a game which wraps up not only the story that began in Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception earlier this year, but also the original Utawarerumono. To prepare people for this entry, a trailer has been released that looks at the opening animation and some gameplay snippets.
The almost two minute trailer isn’t filled with too many spoilers. Much of it involves looks at characters like Anju, Oshtor, Kuon, Nekone, Anju, Uruuru, Saraana, Rulutieh, and Nosuri. It also prepares people for the way they’ll fight in this installment. While it is certainly possible for someone to come into Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth without having played Mask of Deception, I wouldn’t recommend it simply because it deals with so much character development of people introduced in the previous game and people would better appreciate the story if they take the time to meet and bond with these characters in the other installment.
Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth is available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
