Germany has banned vague release dates for pre-orders, meaning that now retailers have to either give a specific release date, or not offer a pre-order at all. [Thanks, Eurogamer!]

The ban extends to phrases such as “coming soon”, “available soon”, or “TBA”, and came about because of a ruling against German retailer Media Markt over pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy S6 in 2016. Video games are more just caught in the wake of the ruling, which applies to all products.

According to the Higher Regional Court of Munich, customers should know when they can expect a delivery after a pre-order.
