Valkyrie Elysium Update Adds Playable Hilde, Seraphic Gate Dungeon

Square Enix revealed a Valkyrie Elysium free update that makes Hilde playable, adds the traditional Valkyrie Profile Seraphic Gate dungeon, and two new difficulty levels. It is immediately available to download. However, you’ll need to beat the game before you can become Hilde or enter Seraphic Gate. People who get the PC version won’t need to download any additional update, as it will be included in it at launch.

All of the new content in the Valkyrie Elysium update is designed to offer an additional challenge for established players. The two new difficulty options are both harder than included ones. Very Hard and Valkyrie both show up once you install the patch. Valkyrie is the most difficult option. Square Enix didn’t explain what either will entail.

To play as Hilde in Valkyrie Elysium, you’ll need to beat the game once. Then, if the update is installed, you’ll see Hilde’s Vengeance in the main menu. This follows the Fenrir-allied heroine as she heads to find and face Odin.

Finally, the Seraphic Gate in Valkyrie Elysium is a post-game dungeon, much like it is in other Valkyrie Profile games. You’ll be assigned Divine Arts, Einherjar, and items to use on each floor of the dungeon. A timer will also show how long you’re taking to go through every floor.

Valkyrie Elysium is available for the PS4 and PS5. The PC version will launch on November 11, 2022. The free Valkyrie Elysium with a playable Hilde, new difficulty options, and Seraphic Gate is out now.
